Christmas is only a few days away, and I can hardly believe it! The holiday season is a time to take in all the twinkling lights, holiday cheer, and unique Christmas trees.

This past weekend, I traveled to Quebec City after discovering it was one of the prettiest Christmas towns around. And let me tell you, it exceeded my expectations.

In honor of Christmas, I will have posts coming all week showcasing their German Christmas Market and Christmas bars. But today, let’s talk about one of my favorite things I found during my travels—the Christmas trees at the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac.

The History of Fairmont Le Château Frontenac

First, let’s talk about the history of the famous Fairmont Le Château Frontenac. The breathtaking hotel is situated in Quebec City, Canada. It proudly stands as a symbol of luxury and history.

It was designed by architect Bruce Price and opened on December 18, 1893; the hotel was initially constructed by the Canadian Pacific Railway to promote upscale tourism.

Over the years, it has undergone renovations and expansions while maintaining its architectural charm, resembling a European castle.

Notably, during World War II, the Château Frontenac was the Allied High Command headquarters. Hosting dignitaries, celebrities, and political figures, the hotel became synonymous with elegance.

In 1999, it became part of Fairmont Hotels and Resorts. Designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1981, the Château Frontenac continues to captivate with its panoramic views of Old Quebec and the St. Lawrence River.

Many celebrities and figures of importance have visited the hotel. This includes Winston Churchill, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Alfred Hitchcock, Charles de Gaulle, Grace Kelly, Paul McCartney, Queen Elizabeth II Prince Philip, and Celine Dion.

The Fairmont Le Château Frontenac combines history, luxury, and cultural significance. It is expensive but worth the experience. If you are not staying there, you can still visit and tour the property.

The hotel is commonly referred to as The Christmas Hotel, and once I went inside, I understood why. They have a whole hallway dedicated to Christmas Tree! Many are made by local artists or charities, shining brightly all night.

I thought the trees were beautiful and artistic and wanted to share them with you! I am not sure of the proper names, so I got a little creative and gave them my own nicknames.

So here is your escape into the Christmas Trees of the iconic Fairmont Le Château Frontenac!

The Cotton Candy Feather Tree

This was one of the best Christmas Trees, mostly due to its fun personality. The blue and pink feathers, combined with the mini disco balls, were an iconic duo.

The Club Kiwanis Tree

Club Kiwanis Is a fantastic organization in Quebec whose mandate is to change the world, one child, and one community at a time.

The Happy Holiday Golf Tree

This tree showcases everything Golf! They did an amazing job with the golf clubs popping up and the small golf balls hanging. I also love the added ribbon for an even more unique take.

The Quebec City Tree

The signs point to different holiday destinations in Quebec City, while the ornaments highlight winter town activities, like ice skating!

The Fashionista Tree

This tree screams everything, Fashion! Its unique bow resembles a ball gown and this tree drew the most attention.

The Ravishing Red Tree

This tree was dressed in vibrant red! The bright colors, ornaments, and decor illuminated the room, and the hat was just a bonus!

The Black & White Tree

Sometimes, there is no better color combo than black and white. This tree proves that. The charming ornaments, small houses, and black-and-white feathers are gorgeous.

The Champagne & Wine Glass Tree

This post would not be complete without a Christmas Tree made out of Champagne & Wine Glasses! I don’t know how they did it. But the glass combined with the lights made the whole tree illuminate.

The hallway was lined with Christmas trees and many more. If you find yourself in Quebec City over the next week, visit the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac.
