There is something so peaceful about beaches in state parks, and Maine is home to a few special ones, including Crescent Beach State Park.
Crescent Beach State Park is known for its sandy crescent-shaped beach, hence the name. The beach is well-maintained and offers a picturesque setting for visitors to sunbathe and swim in the summer.
Visiting during winter provides a peaceful beach hike, although it can be quite cold.

Where Is Crescent Beach State Park Located?
This Maine State Park is in the beautiful Cape Elizabeth area, an 18-minute drive south of Portland.
It is a scenic day trip that you can easily take. I recommend visiting Cape Elizabeth afterward; it is famous for its lighthouses, beachfront hotels, and fresh seafood. Yes, that includes New England’s iconic Lobster Rolls!

Hiking at Crescent Beach State Park is easy, and you have a few options.
For a stroll, kick off your shoes and walk along the sandy shores near the Atlantic Ocean. Summer is the best time to visit since you can spend your day in the ocean.
You can also take the Kettle Cove to Crescent Beach State Park Loop for a longer hike, which is 2.8 miles long. The hike will bring you down the beach and through the nature paths in Crescent Beach State Park.

Visitors can take in the beauty of the coastline and enjoy the natural surroundings.
