Massachusett’s recently got its first Sour Brewery, and it’s located right in the heart of Plymouth. Sour Not Sorry Brewing is a newer brewery that has started attracting beer enthusiasts from all over. From their lively decor to their delicious range of sour beers, you have to go for yourself. Here is everything you need to know about this week’s featured brewery!

What Is Sour Beer?

Sour beer is a type of beer that has an intentionally acidic, tart, or sour taste. This sourness is typically achieved by introducing wild yeast strains or bacteria during fermentation. These microorganisms produce acids, mainly lactic acid, which gives sour beer its characteristic tangy flavor profile.

Sour beers are not for everyone; some may not like them as much as others. However, Sour Not Sorry Brewing offers a variety, ranging from low-sour to high-impact sours. I genuinely believe they have a beer for everyone.

Colin Crociati, Owner/Founder/Brewer of the brewery, boasts a decade of brewing experience, having worked at four prominent craft breweries in Massachusetts. According to their website, his brewing journey began during college, opting to craft small batches of beer instead of purchasing from stores, leading him to embrace the world of sour beer. Inspired by his first creation, “Total Deutschebag!” – a sour smoke ale refined since 2016 – Colin envisioned an all-sour brewery.

Despite a setback with stage 2 Hodgkin lymphoma, his passion endured, bolstered by remarkable medical care in Boston. Grateful, Colin plans to release charity beers to support cancer care and research. With unwavering family support, he established a Nano brewery shed in his backyard, which was swiftly built with Kickstarter assistance.

The brewery has top-notch stainless steel fermenters and promises maximum flavor and cleanliness. The brewery in downtown Plymouth recently opened, and you can visit it today!

They have so many different sours you can try! We both ordered a flight during our visit, which allowed us to try a variety of their beers.

Each beer has a description, ABV percentage, and even a sour meter. If you are sensitive to sour beers, go to the lowest level. The dedicated team can also help you decide!

The Atmosphere

I loved the vibe of Sour Not Sorry Brewing! The walls were lined with lively artwork of their beers, similar to bright graffiti. There was plenty of seating, from couches to tables in the back, and lots of games.

You could set out a board game to enjoy with your party or go head-to-head with someone at their arcade-style Pac-man machine. The Pac-man machine was free, which I thought was a nice touch.

Where Is Sour Not Sorry Brewing Located?
