Have You Seen Maui’s Striking Rainbow Eucalyptus Trees?

I woke up at 6 AM, eager to start my drive along the Road to Hana to make it to Haleakala National Park by early afternoon. Where I couldn’t wait to see the famous Rainbow Eucalyptus trees in person.

Why Ke’anae Arboretum Is a Must-See on the Road to Hana

Driving the legendary Road to Hana was one of the most unforgettable experiences of my trip to Maui.

The lush landscapes, scenic ocean views, and hidden gems made every mile exciting!

With a full day of adventure ahead, one of my first stops was the stunning Ke’anae Arboretum.

It is home to the dazzling Rainbow Eucalyptus trees—a natural masterpiece that looked almost too surreal to be real.

Witnessing the Beauty of Rainbow Eucalyptus Trees

I had seen photos of the Rainbow Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus deglupta) before my trip, but nothing could prepare me for seeing them in person.

Their multi-colored bark, which peels away to reveal shades of green, blue, orange, and maroon, was simply mesmerizing.

Originally from the Philippines and Indonesia, these trees have thrived in Hawaii’s tropical climate, adding even more magic to the island’s landscapes.
