Switzerland and fondue go together like peanut butter and jelly. And, if you visit this scenic country, you must try some for yourself. I tried some of the most amazing fondues during my recent visit to Switzerland, located in the heart of the Swiss Alps.
Restaurant Taverne
This fantastic fondue is available at Taverne, a restaurant inside Hotel Interlaken in Switzerland. Interlaken is the central hub for all outdoor activities in the Swiss Alps. From enjoying the mountain towns to taking the tram up to Harder Klym, Interlaken has it all.
The best way to end a day of playing in the Swiss Alps is with piping hot fondue at Restaurant Traverne.
Fondue At Restaurant Taverne
Now, let’s talk about the fondue! They have various options, from Älpler cheese fondue with bread, chili cheese fondue with bread, or truffle cheese fondue with bread, each offering a unique and savory experience.
Enhance your meal with extra side dishes such as potatoes or pickled vegetables, including pickles, dried tomatoes, carrots, cauliflower, beetroot, and red onions.
We did the Swiss Dinner Party for two, allowing us to try everything Swiss.
Swiss Dinner Party For Two
This 3-course Swiss tasting menu, designed for two people to share, features highlights from Swiss cuisine.
The first course features a salad with Belper Knolle, a Swiss cheese made from cow’s milk infused with spices and topped with nuts and seeds.

Then, indulge in the Älpler cheese fondue, a creamy blend of Swiss cheeses served with freshly baked bread! It also comes with a Raclette Rösti Chef’s Style, which has pickled vegetables, a fried egg, and Kale.
In Switzerland, especially in the Alpine regions, Raclette, a type of melted cheese, is typically served over boiled potatoes, pickles, and onions, making it a popular dish.
On the other hand, Rösti, a Swiss dish, involves grating potatoes and frying or cooking them until they become crisp and golden brown.

Just watch how the cheese sizzles!
We will end our meal with the amazing Chocolate fondue, which includes pineapple, marshmallows, banana, grapes, and meringue.
Swiss chocolate is recognized worldwide for its exceptional quality and rich, creamy texture. It is crafted with meticulous attention to detail and uses the finest ingredients.

You get all these tasty Swiss treats for only 46.50 CHF per person. It was a great deal and the best meal we had during our trip to Switzerland.
They also have a variety of Swiss Wines for you to try! We paired our meal with a “Lune Noir” bottle from Cully, Switzerland.
Do You Need Reservations?
Yes, I recommend making reservations in advance since the restaurants get packed. You can do that directly on their website here.
Where Is Taverne Restaurant Located?
The restaurant is located in downtown Interlaken, making it an easy walk from most hotels.
