Welcome to Rue Cler, one of Paris’s most beloved market streets. Located in the city’s heart, this cobblestone street has tasty bakeries, wine shops, and fresh produce stands. Walking around, shopping, and eating became a highlight of our entire trip. Here is every place we visited during our picnic shopping trip to Rue Cler.
Rue Cler in Paris
First, here is a little bit about Rue Cler. The street is located in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, France, about a twenty-minute walk from the Eiffel Tower.
We enjoyed walking the charming cobblestone streets while admiring the colorful storefronts and eating every delicious thing we could find.

Where to Eat & Shop on Rue Cler
Here are the places we visited during our stroll along Rue Cler in Paris.
1. Maison Bergeron For Pastries
Our first stop was Maison Bergeron, which is not technically located on Rue Cler, as it sits a block away. But it was too good not to be included on this list.

This charming bakery is known for its dedication to traditional French pastry-making techniques and high-quality ingredients. They had cakes, tarts, macarons, croissants, and other sweet treats.

We grabbed a few fantastic pastries to start our day, as well as a hot espresso.

2. La Fromagerie For Cheese
Next was a visit to the most infamous cheese shop, La Fromagerie. Since its establishment, La Fromagerie has been a favorite destination for cheese enthusiasts like me!
If you are seeking high-quality, flavorful cheeses sourced from across France and beyond, stop here.

We were greeted with an inviting display of cheeses with different textures and flavors.
From creamy bries to tangy blues and aged comtés, the shop showcases the rich diversity of French cheese-making tradition.

We bought two cheeses, at around 5 euros each, which were very affordable (and tasty)!
3. Le Repaire de Bacchus For Wine
Now that we had our cheese, it was time to grab a bottle of French wine. I had heard great things about Le Repaire de Bacchus, which is located right next to the cheese shop.
At Le Repaire de Bacchus, we were welcomed into a charming space with shelves showcasing an impressive array of wines, champagnes, and spirits, from rare vintages to everyday favorites.

We grabbed a $12 bottle of wine that would pair nicely with the cheese for our Parisian picnic.
Pro Tip: Don’t forget to bring a wine opener with you! But take it out before going through security at places like the Louvre.
4. Produce Stands For Fruit
Our last stop was fresh fruit from one of the many produce stands. We opted for the cherries, which were more expensive than the wine and cheese combined.

So always ask the price if it’s not displayed. The cherries were delicious, though, and completed our picnic spread.
