New York City has so many options for foodies, from grabbing a New York Slice to eating a dirty water dog. One of my favorite things in NYC is visiting all the delicious districts, from Chinatown to Little Italy. There is one stop that simply can’t be missed if you love Italian cannolis: Caffé Palermo, home to the Cannoli King!
Little Italy in NYC
First, let’s talk about Little Italy, a vibrant neighborhood in the lower Manhattan area of New York City. The neighborhood is primarily Italian-American, and the food here highlights that. Little Italy is a top cultural attraction in Manhattan and a popular tourist destination.
Where Is Little Italy in NYC?
The heart of Little Italy centers around Mulberry Street, stretching from Canal Street to Houston Street. This area bustles with narrow streets, bustling markets, and a variety of delicious Italian restaurants, cafes, and pastry shops. Visitors flock here for hearty plates of pasta, slices of pizza, and authentic Italian pastries.
Caffé Palermo: The Home Of The Cannoli King
One of the main attractions in Little Italy is Caffé Palermo, which has been open since 1973 and is infamous for its Italian pastries and its iconic Cannoli.

The Cannoli is so good that Chef John DeLutro has earned the nickname “Cannoli King®.” You can try one or five yourself when visiting Caffé Palermo.

Caffé Palermo also serves a variety of other pastries for lunch and dinner. I recommend visiting the cafe during a trip to Little Italy, you will not be disappointed!
Cannoli King’s Famous Visitors
The iconic Cannoli King® has appeared on famous shows like the Rachel Ray Show and the Food Network.
Many celebrities have visited Caffé Palermo over the years, including Clint Eastwood, Danny DeVito, John Stamos, Katie Holmes, Mark Cuban and so many more!
