The therapeutic water at Jemez Hot Springs originates from beneath the Valles Caldera National Preserve, about 17 miles up the mountain.

Long ago, the mountain trapped ancient seawater, infusing it with various minerals over time.

This place has so many small geothermal pools ranging from boiling to comfortably warm.

Hot from pool to pool while soaking your body. Enjoy the pool temperatures, which are maintained at a comfortable 98-105 degrees Fahrenheit.

Enjoy the crisp mountain air with views of the peaks all around you.

They even have lounge chairs free of charge where you can nestle up with your favorite book in between soaking.

What To Bring To Jemez Hot Springs

Make sure to bring a water bottle with you to Jemez Hot Springs. Soaking in mineral water can dehydrate you.

Remember to pack your swimsuit for all pools since they require it at all times.

On the other hand, if you forget your bathing suit, they do have rentals available.

A towel, since the property does not have them as part of your entry fee. However, if you forget yours, they offer towel and robe rentals for a small fee.

Make It An Overnight Stay!

You can even make a weekend out of it by staying in one of their cottages overnight!

Your lodging won’t have televisions, but your stay includes only a 2-hour soak during business hours.
