Every winter, downtown Magog turns into a real-life winter wonderland. This Canadian town, which is located in Quebec, has some of the area’s best ice skating. Here is everything you need to know about the best ice skating in Magog.

Magog’s Ice Skating Path

You can ice skate on the ice skating path, which is located right in downtown Magog. The circuit is located alongside Lake Memphrémagog and is 2.8 km or 1.5 miles long. You can enjoy it during the day or even at night when it’s illuminated.

All you have to do is bring your ice skates and hop right on! The circuit is on a straight path, looping at the end. You can enjoy the circuit as many times as you would like to.

Magog can get very cold, so feel free to take advantage of their warming shelter.

Ice Skate Rentals in Magog

If you do not have your own skates, you can rent them at Life Outdoors, which is located right next to the path.

The cost to rent ice skates is $13.05 for a 1-hour rental, $17.39 for 2 hours, $21.74 for 4 hours, or $30.44 for the entire day.

How Much Does Ice Skating Cost?

The town of Magog is lovely enough to allow both locals and visitors to use the path for free. They even have clean-up crews that help maintain and smooth the ice. You can go as many times as you would like, making it one of Maggie’s best free activities to take advantage of during winter.

Where To Park

You can park at Pointe Merry or Cabana, which is located right next to the path. We put Magog Skate Park into our GPS, and it brought us right to the area. You can easily pay for parking right at the pay station before hopping directly onto the path.

When Is The Ice Skating Path in Magog Open?

Ice skating is usually open in winter, from December 15, 2023, to March 4, 2024. They will make the path when it’s cold enough to keep the ice. In the summer, the area is used for riding bikes, running, or walking.
