It’s officially summer time, which means it’s tourist season at Acadia National Park. While I love visiting all year round, Acadia is most magical in summer, when all the stores open their doors and welcome visitors with open arms.
One of my favorite things to do when visiting Acadia National Park, in addition to hiking, is try all of the delicious lobster rolls in town. I compiled a list of my favorite lobster shacks I have visited so far!

The Most Delicious Lobster Rolls Near Acadia National Park
Here are four of the most delicious lobster rolls near Acadia National Park!
1. Bar Harbor Lobster Pound
I stumbled upon a new lobster shack a few weeks ago when visiting Acadia National Park: Bar Harbor Lobster Pound! They opened their doors last May 2023 and have gained quite a reputation.

You will notice the steam from the fresh lobster being cooked right from the parking lot! After ordering at the counter, you can go outside to one of the picnic tables surrounded by string lights.

This may be my favorite lobster roll in Acadia National Park because it has a different flare. I got their House Roll, which has fresh lobster tossed in their homemade garlic aioli sauce. It was served with homemade chips. The flavor of this lobster roll was to die for!
Address: 414 ME-3, Bar Harbor, ME 04609
2. Abel’s Lobster
Located on Somes Sound on Mount Desert Island, Abel’s Lobster is one of my favorite lobster shacks near Acadia National Park! Nothing is better than grabbing a seat at one of their outdoor picnic tables, which provides beautiful water views.
Their delicious lobster roll is filled with fresh lobster, chives, and mayo and served on a griddled brioche bun.

You can also pair your roll with a delicious local Maine beer!

You can read my Guide On Abel’s Lobster for the best time to visit.
3. The Travelin Lobster
Next, you have to visit The Travelin Lobster. This spot is more than just a lobster shack; it’s an entire experience.

I chose their Hot Roll, which comes with sauteed buttered lobster. They also have a cajun roll, mixed with mayo and served on a bed of lettuce, and Their Slaw Roll, mixed with mayo, served on a bed of coleslaw and then topped with Thousand Island dressing. You can’t go wrong with any of them!

They even have a large screen up for football in the fall. Can you think of a better way to enjoy a game? Read my guide on The Travelin Lobster: A Favorite Near Acadia
Address: 1569 ME-102, Bar Harbor, ME 04609
4. Dorr Lobster
Go north of Acadia and stop in Ellsworth to try Door Lobster. This small family fisherman-owned lobster business has a fantastic lobster roll. It was fresh and well-priced, and I would recommend it for a quick stop before entering or leaving Acadia.

You can make a day trip to Ellsworth. They have a nice downtown area with some local breweries and restaurants.
Address: 72 Shore Rd, Ellsworth, ME 04605
What Is The Average Lobster Roll Cost in 2024?
While the price fluctuates, the average cost is around $30 in 2024. This depends on location, size, and the market’s performance.
