I visit Acadia National Park a few times a year, so I was more than excited when I saw a new lobster roll shack open up in Bar Harbor. I knew we had to stop it and try for it ourselves when I saw the steam rising from the lobster pots at Bar Harbor Lobster Pound. Here is everything you need to know about this delicious stop!

Bar Harbor Lobster Pound

Bar Harbor Lobster Pound is more than just a place to eat; it also supports people who love what they do while staying true to their family values. Their story begins with a vacation to Maine in May 2019. They loved the beautiful coastline so much that they purchased a vacation home there.

Soon after, they sold their Florida business and decided to make Maine their home. With a passion for cooking and a love for lobster, they thought it would be fun to purchase a run-down lobster pound and bring it back to life. They focused on their unique ‘Florida flare’ recipes, purchasing the freshest lobster right off the dock.

The Vibe

As you pull into the parking lot, you will notice the steam coming from the pots outside. This is literally fresh lobsters and other seafood being cooked in front of you! It doesn’t get more fresh than that.

I tried the House Special Lobster Roll. It has fresh lobster tossed in their house with lemon garlic aioli sauce. Not only was the lobster fresh, but the sauce was delicious!

It also came with a side of homemade chips, which were equally tasty!
