Boothbay Lobster Wharf

When I first arrived, I could immediately tell this was the real deal. The wharf has that perfect mix of laid-back vibes and coastal charm. You can’t help but feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard, with the working lobster boats bobbing in the water and the smell of fresh seafood in the air.

The Seafood At Boothbay Lobster Wharf

My favorite part of coming here is all of the fresh seafood you can eat. The ordering process is as simple as it gets: walk up to the counter, take a peek at the menu, and make your choice.

I had to eat a whole lobster, the ultimate Maine dinner. There’s nothing quite like cracking into one fresh from the ocean. Served up with drawn butter and a side of corn on the cob, it’s a true feast

Fresh clam steamers are a Maine classic that you can’t miss. There’s something special about the simplicity of steamed clams—fresh from the ocean, cooked until they open up, and served with a side of drawn butter.

The clams are tender, with a slight sweetness that pairs perfectly with a squeeze of lemon.

$1 Oyster Night At Boothbay Lobster Wharf

You have to visit during $1 Buck-O-Shuck Oysters which are on Fridays in the summer. It is cash only and make sure to bring enough for a tip!

These oysters are as fresh as they come, shucked right in front of you, and served with all the classic fixings—lemon, cocktail sauce, and maybe a dash of hot sauce if you’re into that.

The briny, slightly sweet flavor of the oysters paired with the laid-back atmosphere of the wharf makes for an unbeatable combo.

It starts at 5:30 pm and is served until they are gone.

The Coastal Vibe

But what makes Boothbay Lobster Wharf special isn’t just the food, it’s the atmosphere. I grabbed a seat at one of the picnic tables overlooking the harbor and just soaked it all in.

The views are stunning, with the boats coming and going, seagulls flying overhead, and the sound of waves gently lapping against the dock.

It’s the kind of place where you can sit for hours, sipping a cold drink and watching the world go by. Which I did, with this very oversized blueberry mojito!
