Luckett Vineyards is one of the most iconic wineries in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley, and for good reason. Not only does it offer incredible wines and farm-to-table dining, but it’s also home to the famous red phone booth!

I visited Luckett Vineyards as part of my Magic Winery Bus Tour in Wolfville, and it ended up being one of the highlights of my trip. Here’s everything you need to know before visiting Luckett Vineyards in Wolfville, Nova Scotia!

Luckett Vineyards in Nova Scotia

I was so excited to visit Luckett Vineyards during my winery tour. The vineyard is just as impressive as the wine. Rolling hills, lush vineyards, and views of the Minas Basin make this one of the most scenic wineries in Annapolis Valley.

The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the wines. They took time to answer questions, suggest pairings, and explain the vineyard’s unique approach to winemaking.

The best view at Luckett Vineyards is from the famous red phone booth, where visitors can see the stunning Annapolis Valley landscape.

The whole experience felt laid-back and welcoming, making it a perfect stop for both wine enthusiasts and casual visitors looking to explore Nova Scotia’s wine scene.

The Famous Red Phone Booth

My favorite part of our visit was spending time at the bright red British-style phone booth, standing right in the middle of the vineyard.

It’s one of the most photographed spots in Nova Scotia, and as soon as I saw it, I understood why.

What makes it even cooler? You can actually use the phone booth to make free calls anywhere in North America! (Yes, I tested it!)

Why is there a phone booth in a vineyard?

The story goes that vineyard owner Pete Luckett, a British-born entrepreneur, wanted to bring a piece of England to Nova Scotia—and what better way than with an iconic red phone booth?

Pro tip: Stand inside the phone booth with a glass of Phone Box Red wine (more on that below) for the ultimate Luckett Vineyards photo!

Wine Tasting at Luckett Vineyards

If you love cool-climate wines, Luckett Vineyards is a must-visit. Their wines reflect the unique terroir of Nova Scotia, and I loved trying the grapes of the area.

During my tasting, I tried:

Phone Box Red

  • Inspired by the red phone booth, this smooth red wine has juicy dark fruit flavors with a hint of spice. It’s one of their most popular wines and makes for a great souvenir bottle!

Phone Box White

  • A refreshing, fruit-forward white wine, perfect for sipping on a warm day. It pairs beautifully with seafood, making it a great match for Nova Scotia’s local cuisine.

Tidal Bay

  • Nova Scotia’s signature white wine—fresh, aromatic, and bursting with citrus and minerality. If you only try one wine at Luckett, make it this one!

Buried White & Buried Red

  • These wines are aged underground in oak barrels, giving them a unique depth of flavor. They’re more complex than the Phone Box wines and definitely worth trying.

Can’t decide? You can order a tasting flight like I did to sample multiple wines before choosing your favorite!

Dining at Luckett Vineyards

You can also grab a table at the Luckett Vineyards Crush Pad Bistro, their on-site restaurant serving fresh, locally sourced dishes with incredible vineyard views.

Some delicious dishes you should try are:

  • Seafood chowder – Creamy, flavorful, and filled with fresh Atlantic seafood.
  • Charcuterie board – The perfect pairing with our wine, featuring local cheeses, cured meats, and homemade bread.
  • Wood-fired pizza – We didn’t order it, but I saw plates of stone-oven pizza going by and it looked amazing!
