On my recent trip to Trois-Rivières, I decided to check out La Bette, a cozy tapas spot that recently made its debut in downtown. The moment I stepped inside, I felt a warm and inviting vibe that set the stage for a fantastic dining experience. Here is a look into my visit to La Bette!

La Bette

La Bette’s menu features a variety of tapas that celebrate the simplicity and freshness of Quebec products. Each dish is designed to highlight seasonal ingredients, which means the offerings change throughout the year.

The ambiance at La Bette is laid-back, making it a great place to unwind after a day of exploring the city. The beautiful terrace was particularly inviting, but it was too cold out for us to dine outside. Instead, we cozied up at one of the tables in the back, which had a romantic setting.

Tasty Tapas

We started with a few small plates, and I was immediately impressed by how well the flavors came together. The dishes were simple yet elegant, and the flavors were out of this world!

Olives Panées

We started our meal with the Olives Panées. These crispy, breaded olives were bursting with flavor and made for a fantastic appetizer. The crunch on the outside paired great with the juicy olives inside.

I had never tried fried olives before and would totally do it again.

Feta Fouettée

Next up was the Feta Fouettée, which was simply divine. It came served with creamy yogurt and an herb sauce, along with a hint of lemon dukkah that added a lovely brightness to the dish.

The grilled naan bread was the perfect accompaniment, making it easy to scoop up every last bit.

Pétoncles

For our fish dish we chose the Pétoncles, which featured perfectly seared scallops, served on a smooth carrot puree and topped with crispy prosciutto chips and basil oil.

This dish highlighted the sweetness of the scallops while bringing together earthy flavors.

Canard

I had to try the Canard, and it did not disappoint! This dish featured confit duck wrapped in crispy phyllo pastry, which created an amazing crunch.

The rich, tender duck was perfectly complemented by the creamy Boursin cheese and a drizzle of sweet forest honey made from local camerise berries.

Boudin

As I dug into the Boudin, I loved the rich, savory blood sausage (boudin noir) paired with a creamy wild mushroom sauce.

The sweet camerise coulis on top really tied everything together, adding a nice touch of sweetness that balanced out the richness.

It was such a tasty indulgence, and I found myself enjoying every bite. This dish was definitely a highlight of my meal!

Baba au Limoncello

For dessert, I indulged in the Baba au Limoncello, a light cake soaked in limoncello syrup with creamy mascarpone.

I can still taste it! It was beyond amazing.

La Bette’s Natural Wines

To complement the tapas, I decided to try one of La Bette’s organic wines. The selection was impressive, and I loved how they focused on natural and organic options.
