During a winter visit to the Lac-Mégantic area of Quebec, I stayed at one of the most relaxing spas in the region. It ended up being the perfect winter getaway, with peaceful surroundings and plenty of time to unwind. Here is a look into my stay.
Estello Suites & Spa in Quebec
I booked Estello Suites & Spa on a bit of a whim while we were already in the Lac-Mégantic area.
We came here for the Mount Mégantic hike, and it ended up being one of the most relaxing stays of the trip.

After a cold winter hike, it felt like the perfect place to slow down and warm up.

The property is quiet and wellness-focused, with a calm atmosphere that makes it easy to unplug.
The best part is that we had access to the spa during our stay through a special promotion.
My Experience at Estello Suites & Spa
Here is a look into my experience, from check-in to check out!
Arriving After the Mount Mégantic Hike
We arrived at Estello Suites & Spa in the early afternoon after our hike to Mount Mégantic, already tired and cold in the best way.

Right away, we were greeted with a glass of champagne.
Which was such a welcome surprise after being outside all morning.

We were then brought to our room, the Luxury Suite, and I was honestly taken aback by how large and beautiful it was.
As soon as we walked in, it felt more like an apartment than a hotel room.
Inside the Luxury Suite
The suite had a full living area with a dining table, a couch, and gorgeous views of Lac Mégantic just outside the balcony doors.
From there, we walked into a full kitchen with a stove, oven, and full fridge.
Which made it easy to settle in and actually feel at home.

The bathroom had a beautiful rain shower that was perfect for relaxing after the hike.
The bedroom was separate from the living space, with a large, comfortable bed waiting for us.

There was even a maple pecan treat on the bed, which was such a thoughtful touch.

Everything about the space felt perfected!
The Wellness Spa in Winter
Once we got settled, we put on the robes provided and made our way down to the wellness spa.
Stepping outside into the frigid winter air and then easing into the hot tubs was one of the best feelings of the entire trip.

The spa has several smaller hot tubs, all with stunning views of the snow and the lake.

There is also a heated pool that you can swim in.
Along with a dry sauna that works perfectly for a full Nordic cycle.
There is a cold plunge as well, but with the temperature already sitting around minus ten degrees, we decided to skip that part.

After rotating between the hot tubs, warm pool, and sauna, we headed back inside to relax with hot tea in the massage chairs.

There is also a quiet relaxation room for reading, along with chairs that use collagen lights, which adds another layer to the experience.
A Slow Evening In
After a few hours at the spa, we returned to our suite feeling completely relaxed and made dinner in the kitchen.
It felt like a true winter spa getaway rather than a quick hotel stay.
The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I had one of the best nights of sleep I have had in a hotel in a long time.
Breakfast and a Peaceful Morning Spa Visit
Breakfast was included with our stay, and we selected our options the night before.
We upgraded for a small fee to include mimosas and a full breakfast.
I had a homemade smoothie with a soft-boiled egg, fresh fruit, and toast, and it was genuinely delicious, better than most hotel breakfasts I have had.

Before leaving, we went back to the spa first thing in the morning when it opened.

Seeing the spa during daylight, with snow on the ground and the lake frozen over, felt especially peaceful and was the perfect way to end the stay.
From the staff to the accommodations, this was one of the best wellness hotels I have ever stayed at.
Truly on par with some of the spa experiences I have had in Iceland.
