We couldn’t picnic here since I visited before the Paris Olympics. But now it’s back open! I couldn’t think of a prettier picnic spot in Paris!

Picnicking In Paris Packing List

Picnic Blanket: A comfortable and waterproof blanket to sit on. I recommend this small Waterproof Picnic Blanket From Amazon. I bought this before the trip, and it took up no room in my suitcase. It also fits easily in a backpack or purse.

Plates, Bowls, and Utensils: Lightweight and durable reusable or disposable plates, bowls, cups, and utensils. You can ask the bakery or cheese shop if they have a plastic fork or knife you can bring.

Cheese: Cheese was the highlight of our picnic, as Paris has some of the best cheese shops in the world.

The cheese was artistic, delicious, and relatively affordable, so of course, we got two!

Wine & Wine Opener: Laying out in the sun admiring the architecture of Paris is not complete without a bottle of wine. We purchased a bottle at Le Repaire de Bacchus, next to the cheese shop.

Do not forget a wine opener! We packed a small one from home in our checked luggage and kept it in our backpack until it was taken away at the security check at the Louvre.

Baguette: Do not forget to add a fresh French baguette. We grabbed ours closer to Avenue de Breteuil at Paris Baguette. They were kind enough also to give us a plastic knife and fork.
