Discover the best things to do in Mont Tremblant in fall, from gondola rides to maple treats and colorful hikes in the Laurentians. The whole area feels like a postcard come to life, and these are the experiences that made my Quebec getaway one to remember.
My Visit to Mont Tremblant in the Fall
Tucked in the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec, Mont-Tremblant is a charming resort town.
Best known for its ski slopes in winter and its colorful scenery in autumn.

Just a 90-minute drive from Montreal, it’s become one of the top fall leaf-peeping destinations in Canada.
The hills surrounding the village light up in shades of red, orange, and yellow, making it the perfect spot for hiking, gondola rides, and cozy mountain getaways.
Top Things to Do in Mont Tremblant This Fall
1. Take the Panoramic Gondola Ride
One of the best ways to experience fall in Mont Tremblant is by taking the panoramic gondola to the summit.
The ride gives you a bird’s-eye view of the Laurentian Mountains, covered in brilliant fall colors that stretch as far as you can see.
At the top, there are lookout points, walking trails, and a small café where you can sip something warm while soaking in the views. It’s one of those moments that really captures the magic of autumn in Quebec.
2. Hike the Les Ruisseaux Trail
If you’re looking for an easy and scenic walk right near the village, the Les Ruisseaux Trail is perfect.
This gentle 2 km loop takes about 45 to 60 minutes and winds through a peaceful forest filled with the sound of running streams.

Along the way, you’ll cross a small footbridge, pass a pretty waterfall, and find quiet spots to stop and rest.
It’s a great option for a slow-paced stroll or a family-friendly hike that still gives you those beautiful fall colors.

I loved how calm it felt, too. Just the sound of water, leaves crunching underfoot, and the cool mountain air.
3. Try Maple Syrup on Snow at Cabane à Sucre
Right in the heart of the village, Cabane à Sucre is a cozy little maple shop filled with sweet Quebec favorites.
Inside, you’ll find shelves lined with maple chocolates, maple butter, and even maple ice cream.

I stopped in to try the classic maple syrup on snow — warm syrup poured over shaved ice that hardens into a chewy, candy-like treat.
It only costs a few dollars and feels like the perfect taste of fall in Mont-Tremblant. Simple, sweet, and so Canadian.

4. Ride the Luge at Skyline Luge Mont Tremblant
For a fun mix of adventure and scenery, try the Luge at Skyline Luge Mont Tremblant.
This paved 1,400-meter downhill track winds its way down the mountain, offering incredible views of the village, lake, and fall foliage along the way.
You’ll take a chairlift to the top, hop in a cart, and control your own speed using the handle.
So you can take it slow or race through the twists and turns. It’s open from spring through fall.
5. Ride the Free Cabriolet Lift Through the Village
One of my favorite parts of visiting Mont Tremblant was the Cabriolet, which is the only lift that’s always free.
This open-air gondola connects the lower and upper parts of the pedestrian village, gliding right over cobblestone walkways, shops, and cafés.

I loved it so much that we rode it about fifteen times during our stay.
It’s quick, easy, and offers some of the most charming views of the fall foliage in the entire area.
Whether you’re heading up for a meal or just want to take in the colors, it’s a simple joy that captures the magic of Mont-Tremblant in autumn.
6. Get Dipped Ice Cream at Chocolato
If you love sweets, Chocolato in the Mont-Tremblant village is a must.
I ended up going here twice during my trip because everything looked too good to resist.

The first time, I ordered maple butter ice cream in a cup and a 70% noir hot chocolate to sip while riding the Cabriolet lift.
Later, we went back to try their dipped ice cream cone, coated in rich dark chocolate, and it was absolutely delicious.

It’s the perfect treat to enjoy while strolling through the village on a crisp fall afternoon.
7. Dine Around the Village
Mont-Tremblant’s pedestrian village has no shortage of great places to eat, from cozy bistros to casual cafés and lively pubs.
We spent time wandering between restaurants before settling on one with outdoor seating that offered a view of the lake.
Dinner under the heat lamps during golden hour felt so peaceful — the sky glowing orange, the trees reflecting on the water, and the whole village slowing down for the evening.
8. Take a Day Trip to the Treetop Walk
For some of the most incredible views of fall foliage in the region, you have to visit the Treetop Walk.
It’s only about a 20-minute drive from the Mont Tremblant village, and ended up being one of my favorite experiences of the trip.

The trail is an easy, scenic walk through the forest that leads to a massive wooden spiral tower rising above the treetops.

As you climb, the views just keep getting better — layer after layer of red, orange, and yellow stretching all the way to the horizon.
Standing at the top, with the cool fall breeze and the mountains glowing in color, was one of those moments I’ll never forget.

9. Try Your Luck at Casino de Mont-Tremblant
Another fun stop just outside the village is the famous Casino de Mont-Tremblant.
Set in the mountains, it’s one of the most scenic casinos in Canada and adds a little excitement to any trip.
Even if you’re not a big gambler, it’s worth visiting for the atmosphere — the building itself is beautiful, with floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over the trees.
The best part is that you don’t need a car to get there. Free shuttles run every 15 to 30 minutes from the pedestrian village, making it easy to visit for a few hours after exploring during the day.
10. Stroll the Scenic Trails Around the Village
Some of the prettiest views I found in Mont Tremblant weren’t on the mountain at all but along the small walking trails near the village.

The paths by the lake were especially beautiful, lined with trees dropping bright fall leaves that reflected perfectly on the still water.
These trails are short and easy to walk, making them perfect for a peaceful break between meals or ice cream stops.

It’s a simple way to slow down, stretch your legs, and take in the calm side of Tremblant’s fall beauty.
11. See Mont Tremblant Dressed for Fall
Mont Tremblant feels extra special in autumn when the whole village gets dressed up for the season.
Pumpkins, hay bales, and colorful leaves fill the streets, and every shop window has a cozy fall touch.

The decorations make the pedestrian village even more inviting, especially with the mountains glowing in the background.
Fall in Love with Mont Tremblant
From colorful gondola rides to maple treats and mountain views, Mont Tremblant in the fall feels like stepping into a postcard.
Every corner of the village has something special. Whether it’s the sound of leaves crunching on a lakeside trail or enjoying a glowing sunset at golden hour.

It’s the kind of place that makes you want to slow down, breathe in the crisp air, and just enjoy the season. I left already dreaming about coming back next year to do it all again.
