The Donuts at Seljalandsfoss Are as Iconic as the Waterfall

Some things in Iceland take you by surprise, and this was one of them. I never expected to find the most delicious donuts in the country at one of its most famous waterfalls. At Seljalandsfoss, a small café by the falls serves up donuts so good they’ve become a reason to stop on their own.

Seljalandsfoss in Iceland

As soon as we arrived, Seljalandsfoss was already packed! But we made our way to the waterfall.

The air felt cool, and the spray from Seljalandsfoss hit my face in the best way.

But as beautiful as the waterfall was, I couldn’t help but notice something delicious nearby!

The smell of fresh pastries carried through the air, and that’s when I knew I had to stop.

The Donuts at Seljalandsfoss

The café that serves these delicious treats sits right at the foot of the waterfall.

Honestly, it feels like the kind of place you’d walk past without thinking twice.

But the second you step closer, you see trays of warm donuts that look way too good to ignore.

I grabbed one right away, mostly because I needed something sweet in my hands, but also because everyone kept saying they were amazing.

They weren’t wrong.

The donut I tried was soft, warm, and filled with caramel that melted the second I bit into it.

It wasn’t heavy or overly sweet, just one of those simple treats that tastes ten times better because of where you are.

I stood there with my donut, watching the waterfall crash down in front of me, and honestly, it felt like the perfect Iceland combo — nature doing its thing, and me with a pastry in hand.
