During my fall weekend getaway to Mont-Tremblant, I knew I had to hike the Treetop Walk in Quebec. The elevated trail winds through a colorful forest and leads to a spiral tower with views that stretch for miles. It’s thrilling at times and a little nerve-wracking if you’re scared of heights, but absolutely stunning with every step. Here’s everything you need to know before your visit!
The Thrilling Treetop Walk in Quebec
Opened in 2021, the Treetop Walk in Quebec, officially known as Sentier des Cimes Laurentides.
It is one of the most unique outdoor attractions in the province.
It’s part of a growing network of canopy walks around the world designed to help visitors experience nature from a new perspective — high above the forest floor.
This elevated boardwalk stretches more than a kilometer through the trees and ends at a 40-meter spiral tower overlooking the Laurentian Mountains.

Built on the site of an old fish hatchery, the Treetop Walk in Quebec was created to blend conservation, accessibility, and adventure.
The entire trail is wide, gently sloped, and wheelchair-friendly, making it one of the most inclusive forest walks in Quebec.
Along the way, you’ll find educational signs about local wildlife, trees, and the changing ecosystems that make this region so special.
Especially during fall, when the leaves explode with color.
What It’s Like Hiking the Treetop Walk
Now I’ll talk about my experience hiking this iconic trail. I purchased my tickets in advance a few days before arriving.
You can book them through Get Your Guide here!
Once we arrived, we went into the main building to show our tickets before heading out to the trail.

From there, the doors opened and we began walking toward the forest canopy.
The start of the hike includes three flights of stairs, but there’s also an elevator available for anyone who prefers not to climb.
Walking Along the Elevated Boardwalk
At the top of the stairs, the real adventure begins.
The Treetop Walk in Quebec takes you through a wooden boardwalk that winds above the trees, offering peaceful views in every direction.

The trail feels sturdy and open, giving you that sense of walking among the treetops without feeling cramped or unsafe.
Every step brings a new perspective of the forest below, especially in the fall when the leaves glow in shades of orange, red, and gold.
Interactive Fun Along the Treetop Walk
One thing I loved about this experience was that it’s not just a walk—it’s interactive.
Along the trail, you’ll find a few fun little games and activities designed to teach you more about the forest.

My favorite area was the bird feeding station, where several feeders attract both birds and squirrels.
We saw blue jays, downy woodpeckers, and chickadees fluttering between the trees, completely at ease in their natural habitat.
It’s such a peaceful stop, and if you’re a nature lover, you could easily spend twenty minutes there just watching them.
Climbing the Observation Tower
Eventually, the boardwalk leads to the tower—a massive spiral structure that gradually ascends above the forest.

The observation tower is what makes the Treetop Walk in Quebec so special.

You slowly wind your way upward, taking in new views with every turn.

If you’re a little afraid of heights like I am, it might feel intimidating at first, but honestly, it’s not nearly as scary as it looks.

The walkway is wide and secure, and I didn’t feel vertigo once.
Views From The Summit
The higher you go, the more beautiful the view gets, with a full panorama of fall foliage stretching across the Laurentian Mountains.

The views from the summit were amazing! And, I love seeing the boardwalk from above.
Dare to Step on the Sky Net
At the very top of the tower, there’s a giant net that lets you look straight down to the bottom.
It’s not for the faint of heart, but if you’re brave enough to step on it, it’s actually really fun!

It took me a good ten minutes before I got enough courage to try it, but honestly, I am so happy I did!
Even though heights are not my favorite, it was still so cool.

On the way back down, we took our time walking along the same boardwalk, enjoying the views one last time.

Take The Slide!
When we reached the forest canopy again, we noticed a giant slide built right into the tower.
It costs just $3 per person, and it’s absolutely worth it.
The slide is open to all ages, and it adds a playful, thrilling ending to your visit.

I couldn’t stop smiling the entire way down—it’s fast, fun, and the perfect way to end your Treetop Walk in Quebec adventure.
