Maine is filled with seafood restaurants; while many are delicious, some stand out over others. I wanted a break from summer traffic. So, we decided to visit a seafood restaurant off the beaten path. Situated at the end of Phippsburg, a peninsula in Maine, is one of my favorite seafood spots, Anna’s Water’s Edge Restaurant.

We found Anna’s by driving to Phippsburg on a foggy Sunday in Maine. We wanted to chow down at one of the local seafood shacks, and this one checked all the boxes.

As we pulled up, I caught a glimpse of the red building at the end of the dirt road. When I saw the sign for Annas, I knew we arrived.

We ordered at the small window, where they gave us a number. Depending on your preference, you can sit inside or outside.

We sat by the water, admiring the foggy mist over the rocky shoreline.

While we waited, we sipped a Shipyard Summer Ale. They had a variety of beer, wine, and mixed drinks to enjoy.

Of course, I had to try the lobster roll from here. With the lobster cages around us and the boats on the harbor a few feet away, I knew it would be one of the freshest I had ever had.

For $25, it was quite the steal!

I was right; the lobster was so fresh. The one thing I loved about this lobster roll is how classic it was. It didn’t need to be dressed with anything fancy, just a little bit of mayo. It was just a good, simple lobster roll.

When Is Anna’s Water’s Edge Restaurant Open?

Their 2024 Hours are Sunday: 11:30-4, Monday: 11:30-7, Thursday: 11:30-7, Friday: 11:30-7, Saturday: 11:30-7.

They are closed on Tuesday & Wednesday.

They Are Dog Friendly!

Dogs are welcome outside if they are leashed and remain with their party during your meal. I was lucky enough to pet a puppy during my visit, which was just a bonus to our trip!
