Quebec City is magical during the holiday season.
From the charming cobblestone streets to the twinkling lights, it’s like stepping into a winter wonderland.
I had the chance to experience some of the best Quebec City Christmas events, and I’m excited to share them with you.
2025 Quebec City Christmas Events
Here are the best holiday events to celebrate when visiting Quebec City for Christmas in 2025!
1. Quebec City Christmas Market
Christmas in Quebec City is a magical experience, especially with a visit to the German Christmas Market in Old Québec.

The German Christmas market in Old Quebec mimics a traditional European Christmas market. Complete with twinkling lights, handcrafted gifts, and a variety of delicious German treats.

I loved enjoying mulled wine at the Winter Bar while snacking on mouth-watering German cuisine such as sausages, hot dogs, and freshly baked pretzels.

One standout was the 1001 Fondues stand, serving cheese fondue-filled baguettes that were well worth the wait.
The market is a perfect blend of holiday cheer, unique gifts, and unforgettable food experiences.

2. Toboggan Rides
During my visit to Quebec City at Christmas, I had the chance to try a thrilling toboggan ride at the historic Fairmont Le Château Frontenac.
This century-old toboggan run offers a unique winter experience, where you can race down icy tracks at speeds of over 40 MPH.

The toboggan ride is affordable, with passes costing as little as $3 per run, and multiple runs available for just $7.
It’s a fun activity for families and friends, and you can even race each other down the slopes.

The toboggan ride is open from mid-December to mid-March, depending on the weather, and can be enjoyed both during the day and at night.
I was initially nervous during my first run, but by nightfall, I was eager to go again!
Whether you’re new to tobogganing or a seasoned pro, this ride is definitely a must-do when visiting Quebec City during the holiday season.

3. La Boutique De Noël
La Boutique de Noël in Quebec City is a holiday lover’s dream.
Located next to the bustling German Christmas Market in Old Quebec, this festive shop is filled with twinkling lights and an atmosphere of pure Christmas magic.

Founded in 1986, the store offers tons of ornaments, many inspired by Santa Claus, the North Pole, and charming Christmas villages.

Visitors come from all over the world to experience the store’s winter wonderland vibes.
During a visit, I picked up a Quebec-themed toboggan ornament and a skiing gnome to take home, both capturing the spirit of the city perfectly.
La Boutique de Noël is a must-visit spot for anyone holiday shopping in Quebec City.
4. Miracle Pop-Up Bar
During my holiday trip to Quebec City, I had the chance to visit the city’s only pop-up Christmas Bar, located at Maelstrøm Saint-Roch.
Situated outside the main tourist area, the bar was easy to reach and filled with festive charm.

The space was buzzing with people dressed in holiday sweaters, and the decorations created a cozy, holiday vibe. The drinks were the highlight, with a menu full of creative Christmas cocktails.
I tried the Krampus, a spicy, smoky drink made with tequila, mezcal, and bitters, along with the Marshmallows & Unicorns cocktail served in a unicorn-shaped mug.

Other fun drinks included the Yippie Ki Ya Mother F***ker, a rum-based concoction, and a holiday-inspired Cosmo called the Christmapoltion.

5. Fairmont Christmas Trees
One of the highlights of my Christmas trip to Quebec City was exploring the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac.
A historic hotel that’s become known as the “Christmas Hotel.”

Inside, I was amazed by the stunning collection of Christmas trees, each uniquely decorated, many by local artists or charities.
The festive spirit filled the hotel, and I couldn’t help but admire how each tree brought something special, from playful designs to elegant themes.

Among the most memorable trees were the “Cotton Candy Feather Tree,” with its fun, colorful feathers, and the “Champagne & Wine Glass Tree,” which was creatively crafted using glasses.

If you’re spending Christmas in Quebec City, there’s no better place to enjoy a delicious, organic meal than at Bistro Hortus.
Located right next to the Hotel du Vieux, this cozy farm-to-table restaurant focuses on fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

With a warm atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot for a festive meal, offering dishes made from ingredients grown in their rooftop gardens and sourced from nearby farms.

The wine list is just as impressive, featuring local options like Domaine De Lavoie’s red blend, which paired perfectly with our meal.
