I had never tried arctic snow tubing before, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect heading into the day at Cranmore Mountain Resort. What started as a simple winter activity turned into one of the most fun and surprisingly exhilarating experiences of our North Conway trip. Here is a look into my experience!
Arctic Snow Tubing at Cranmore Mountain Resort
Arctic snow tubing at Cranmore Mountain Resort felt low pressure in the best way.
There’s no learning curve and no gear to worry about; you grab a tube, hop on the conveyor lift, and you’re back at the top in minutes, ready to go again.

Everything moves smoothly, which means you spend more time laughing and flying down the hill and less time standing around.
It’s worth knowing this is a seasonal experience that typically only runs through March.
So it’s something you’ll want to plan for during a winter trip to North Conway rather than save for later in the year.
I also made sure to visit the New Hampshire Ice Castles! Which I highly recommend.
My Arctic Snow Tubing Experience
Here is a look at my experience so you know what to expect!
Booking Tickets Ahead of Time
I booked our Arctic snow tubing tickets online about a week before our visit, and I’m really glad I did because time slots sell out quickly.
It took just a few minutes to book, and having it locked in made the rest of the day feel easy.

Arriving at Cranmore and Parking Near the Alpine Lodge
Once we arrived at Cranmore Mountain Resort, we parked near the Alpine Lodge, which made everything easy from the start.

Being so close to the lodge was convenient since we ended up going in and out a few times.
Picking Up Tickets at Will Call
We picked up our tickets at will call outside the Alpine Lodge, which was quick and straightforward.
Staff were helpful, and the whole process moved faster than I expected.
Getting Our Tube and Heading Up the Hill
After grabbing our tube, we made our way toward the hill.
Having the option to either use the conveyor lift or walk up gave us some flexibility depending on how busy it was.
Riding the Conveyor Lift to the Top
We took the conveyor belt up to the top of the hill, which made repeat runs really easy.

It keeps the energy up since you’re not exhausted before your next turn.
Waiting at the Top and Choosing a Lane
At the top, there are six tubing lanes, and we waited about 15 minutes before our turn.

The line moved steadily, and watching other people go down made the wait feel shorter.
Choosing Your Speed and Racing
When it was our turn, the employee asked how fast we wanted to go, which I loved because you get to choose your comfort level.
Being able to line up next to someone and race made it even more fun.
Flying Down the Hill
The ride itself is fast and so much fun.
Even though I was nervous going in, the whole experience felt smooth and controlled the entire way down.

Reaching the Bottom Safely
As you reach the bottom, you slide into a padded wall, and a staff member is right there to grab you. It all felt well-managed and never chaotic.
Unlimited Runs and Taking Warm-Up Breaks
You can go an unlimited number of times during your two-hour time slot, which makes it easy to settle into the experience.

Taking breaks inside the Alpine Lodge to warm up or grab food made it feel relaxed instead of rushed.
Is Arctic Snow Tubing at Cranmore Worth It?
Arctic snow tubing at Cranmore Mountain Resort ended up being one of those winter activities that was way more fun than I expected.
It was easy to fit into a weekend, didn’t require skiing experience, and felt well-organized from start to finish.
Since it typically only runs through March and time slots sell out quickly, it’s something worth planning ahead for if you’re visiting North Conway during the winter.
