Check-in at the dock was quick, and within minutes we were boarding the Schooner Appledore and getting ready to set sail.

What to Expect on the Schooner Appledore
One of my favorite moments happened before we even left the harbor.
The crew raised the sails by hand while explaining how everything worked, and it was so fun to watch.
As we sailed away from Camden Harbor, we enjoyed drinks while taking in incredible views of Mount Battie, Curtis Island Light, and the surrounding coastline.
Throughout the sail, the crew shared stories about sailing and pointed out wildlife along the way.
We were lucky enough to spot seals, porpoises, and even a few ospreys.
Why the Sunset Makes This Sail So Special
As beautiful as the entire cruise was, my favorite part came on the way back into Camden Harbor.
The sun slowly began setting behind the coastline, casting a golden glow across the water and the schooner.
It was one of those moments where everyone stopped talking just to soak it all in.
