I’m always on the lookout for unique stays in Maine, so when I found a hotel set inside an old mill with a Michelin Key, I had to see it for myself. Here’s what it was like staying there, and if it’s actually worth it.

The Lincoln Hotel in Maine

Before checking in, I didn’t realize just how much history this place holds.

Back in the 1800s, Biddeford was a busy mill town, with thousands of people walking to work each day at the textile mills that once filled the area.

At its peak in the early 1900s, these mills were producing millions of yards of cloth every year, and the streets nearby were lined with shops, restaurants, and everyday life built around the industry.

Like many mill towns, things started to slow down in the 1960s, and a lot of the buildings were left empty for years.

But over time, the area started to come back to life, with new restaurants, shops, and spaces opening up around downtown Biddeford.

Today, The Lincoln Hotel sits inside one of those restored mill buildings, blending that history with a completely updated, modern stay, which made the experience feel even more special.

Inside My Stay at The Lincoln Hotel

Here’s what my stay was like from the moment we arrived.

Complimentary Valet Parking

Right when we arrived, we pulled up to a complimentary valet, which made everything feel easy from the start.

They take your car as soon as you get there, and the best part is you can request it whenever you need it during your stay.

Which is so nice if you’re planning to explore areas around Biddeford.

Check In and a Glass of Prosecco

After handing off the car, we headed inside to check in, and this was one of my favorite first impressions.

We were greeted with a complimentary glass of prosecco at the front desk.

This immediately set the tone for the stay and made it feel a little more elevated right from the start.

The Gorgeous Room

My favorite part of our stay had to be the room!

It was even better than I expected, and if I am being honest, it was one of the most gorgeous hotel rooms I have ever seen.

The space had exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and even a glass fireplace, which made it feel like the perfect mix of historic and modern.

The bed deserves its own moment because it was that comfortable!

I literally sank into it and had one of the best sleeps of my life.

It honestly felt like sinking into a cloud, and I would come back just for that alone.

I loved the glass shower, which really stood out and added to that clean, elevated feel.

The Lobby Bar

After getting settled, we made our way down to the lobby bar, and this ended up being one of the highlights of our stay.

The space has a really cool, elevated feel with a mix of classic and modern design, and it definitely feels like a place you’d want to spend a night.

We happened to visit during their Kentucky Derby event, which made it even more fun, and the energy in the room was great.

They serve creative cocktails, and I definitely recommend stopping by for a drink, whether you’re starting your night or winding down.

The next morning, we headed down to Spinning Jenny’s Coffee Bar, which is right in the lobby.

It’s such an easy grab in the morning, and they serve specialty lattes that are perfect to start your day.

It was nice not having to leave the hotel for coffee, especially before heading out to explore for the day.

Other Amenities at The Lincoln Hotel

Beyond the rooms and lobby spaces, there’s actually a lot more on-site that makes the stay feel complete:
