Paris—the city of love and incredible food. During my trip around France, I had some unforgettable meals, but one dinner stood out above the rest: La Truffière. It didn’t just make an impression—it easily earned a spot in my top five restaurants ever. I saved up for months for a chance to dine here, and let me tell you why.
La Truffière in Paris
This Michelin-starred restaurant is housed in a stunning 17th-century building in the Latin Quarter.
We made our way there after returning from a day trip to Champagne (where I, of course, sampled Veuve Clicquot and Moët & Chandon).

This was our final dinner in France, and we had saved the best for last.
As we strolled past Parisian cafés and busy streets, I could see the chefs in action through the open kitchen, right from the road.

From there we made our way inside and were brought down The Vaulted Cellar for our meal. This authentic 17th-century vaulted cellar was beautiful, similar to a hidden cave, dressed in beautiful stonework.
The dim lighting created an intimate setting, perfect for a night filled with truffles and wine.
The 7-Course Truffle Tasting Menu
Chef Quentin Maisonnobe, a Bordeaux native with Breton roots, crafts each dish using fresh, seasonal ingredients—and, of course, truffles.
I knew that to fully experience this restaurant, we had to go all in and try the tasting menu paired with wine.

Since this meal was from last spring and the menu changes regularly, I’ll do my best to describe what we had—but just know, what you get might be completely different (and just as incredible).
Amuse-Bouches
We kicked things off with an amuse-bouche, a complimentary bite-sized appetizer from the chef.

Ours? A flaky pastry, similar to a croissant, paired with homemade truffle butter. Simple, yet bursting with rich, earthy flavors.

We also got to try the Gougère, a classic French cheese puff made from choux pastry mixed with cheeses like Gruyère or Comté, infused with Truffle, of course!

Sea Bream Ceviche
Next, we were served sea bream ceviche with mango gel and Espelette pepper.

The fresh citrus-marinated fish balanced perfectly with the sweet mango and mild heat from the pepper. Light, refreshing, and absolutely delicious.
Duck Foie Gras with Tuber Melano Truffle
Our next course was the Duck Foie Gras with Tuber Melano truffle and homemade milk bread. This was the most French dish ever and the truffle put it over the top.
Each course was paired with a carefully selected wine, and the sommelier’s attention to detail was above and beyond.

Earthy Burrata With Shaved Truffles
Next came fresh burrata, drizzled with a light green sauce, topped with local mushrooms, golden apples, and freshly shaved truffles.

This was, hands down, my favorite dish. It melted in my mouth, and the truffle flavor was bold and intense.
Oxtail With Black Truffles
This is La Truffière’s signature dish, and for good reason. You’ll see it all over their reviews, and it absolutely lived up to the hype.

A luxurious take on the classic Hachis Parmentier, it featured slow-braised oxtail, creamy mashed potatoes, a rich sauce, and an overload of shaved black truffles.
The truffles melted in my mouth, and the portion was incredibly generous.
Butternut Squash Soup With Truffles
This was another standout. La Truffière’s butternut squash soup was velvety and rich.

Blending the natural sweetness of the squash with the deep, earthy aroma of black truffles. Absolutely delish!
Beef with Creamy Truffle Sauce
This beef dish from La Truffière in Paris was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and paired with a creamy sauce that tied everything together.

The crispy little tartlets added a nice crunch, and with a bold red wine to sip on, it was easily one of the highlights of the meal.
Smoked Mackerel
One of my unexpected favorites of the night. The fish was lightly smoked with thyme and rosemary, served alongside beans and truffle-infused oil and sauces.

It was a delicate yet flavorful bite, paired with a crisp white wine that made it shine.
Sicilian Lemon Sorbet
Okay, I don’t even know how to put this into words. This might look like a simple sorbet, but if you love citrus as much as I do, you’ll understand why it blew my mind.

The lemons were from Sicily, and they were easily the best lemons I’ve ever tasted. No surprise that Italy is high on my travel list, and after this dessert, I can’t wait to go.
Ice Cream Mousse with Mint Truffle Sauce
This dish was a surprise and one of the most unique desserts I’ve ever had.

A light ice cream mousse with a delicate infusion of truffle in the green minty sauce, topped with a crispy caramelized wafer. Just a few bites, but mind-blowing.

Truffle Macarons & Truffle Caramels
Just when I thought the meal was over, they surprised us with more desserts.
At this point, I was so full I could barely move, but there was no way I was turning down a plate of French macarons infused with truffle.

The truffle caramels were just as heavenly, and we savored them alongside our final glass of dessert wine before stepping out onto the Parisian streets.

An Unforgettable Evening at La Truffière
We grabbed a taxi back to our hotel in the 6th arrondissement, feeling full, satisfied, and completely blown away.
Paris is known for its food, but this meal was truly one of the best of my life. If you ever get the chance to go, do it. And honestly?
While it was on the pricier side, it wasn’t terribly expensive—you’d pay similar prices at some basic touristy restaurants near the Eiffel Tower.
