One of my favorite pastimes is finding delicious restaurants with a bit of history attached to them. So when I walked into The Brunswick Diner in Maine, I knew I was in for a treat. The diner has a historical past, delicious food, and mouth-watering lobster rolls. Here is everything you need to know about this authentic old-time diner!
The Brunswick Diner
First, let’s talk about the history of this place. It was formerly known as the Miss Brunswick Diner, the Norway Diner, and the Norwago Diner. But for the past 74 years, it has been known as The Brunswick Diner. In 1998, Jane Davis became the fifth owner of this historic dining car. It is one of the last authentic old-time diners in the state of Maine.

When visiting, you can marvel at the World-Famous One More Time Wurlitzer Jukebox, which has chrome and glitter, rotating light columns, and magically changing colors. I don’t know what will if that doesn’t bring you down memory lane.

We came here for brunch after spending the morning enjoying Maine’s great outdoors. I didn’t know what to expect when we walked in. We were greeted immediately by the first host, who got us seated. Then, the true experience began.
Tip: Depending on your preference, you can sit outside at one of their picnic tables or inside at one of the old-school diner booths.
The Food At The Brunswick Diner
My favorite part of The Brunswick Diner is that you can order breakfast or lunch items in true diner fashion.
I wanted everything on the menu but knew I had to choose only a few things. I love lobster rolls, so of course, I decided on Miss B’s Maine Lobster Roll! It had fresh Maine lobster lightly tossed with mayo, served with bibb lettuce on a toasted brioche bun, fries, coleslaw, and fresh lemon.

I could taste the freshness in every bite! It was so good that I even added it to my A Local’s Guide To The Best Lobster Rolls In Maine
We also got Miss B’s Breakfast, which had two farm eggs your way, home fries & toast, and smoked bacon.

We also added a side of pancakes, served with banana and chocolate chips. The chocolate melted in my mouth!

I can confidently say that these were some of the best pancakes I ever had. Sharing a first-place spot with This New Hampshire Pancake Parlor.
Bloody Mary’s At The Brunswick Diner
We decided to make it a boozy brunch during our visit and added a Bloody Mary and Mimosa!

I am very picky when it comes to a good Bloody Mary, but The Brunswick Diner definitely put the time and effort into making it amazing.

I will be back a lot this summer! I can’t wait to try everything on the menu.
You can explore their full menu here.
Is The Brunswick Diner Cash Only?
It used to be, but we could use a card when we visited in June of 2024. Cash is also preferred with small businesses if you have it! But I am glad they do take cards now.
