1. Perry’s Grilled Hot Dogs
📍 Location: Bath, Maine
💳 Payment Methods: Cash & Card Accepted
While I love every single spot on my list, my favorite hot dog place in Maine is Perry’s Grilled Hot Dogs in Bath, which has been Almost Famous Since 1994. But honestly, these hot dogs taste pretty famous to me!
This small hot dog cart serves up slowly grilled dogs with a warm roll that you can also get grilled.

The slow-cooked hot dogs are delicious, and the service is even better since Perry himself is cooking up the dogs. The homemade relish, paired with the grilled onions, is to die for.
He also offers homemade lemonade, which is some of the best I have ever had.
We asked for it extra crispy, and the char was out of this world!

In addition to the hot dogs, Perry is such a nice and hardworking guy and you can tell he really takes pride in serving up some of the best dogs in town.

It is definitely my favorite hot dog place in Maine, and you can find him at Waterfront Park in Bath.
Just look for his famous cart and lively shirt, and you will know you are at the right spot!
You should also visit OystHERS in Bath, they serve some fresh oysters and bubbly, and it’s just a few steps from the park where Perry is.
2. Rosies
📍 Location: Eastport, Maine
💳 Payment Methods: Cash Only
Visit the furthest east hot dog stand in the United States, Rosie’s. I will never say no to a hot dog stand!
So when I saw Rosie’s Hot Dogs on the dock after our Old Sow Tour, I was immediately in.

This small shack serves up some amazing dogs and has been doing so for over fifty years.
The hot dogs are so cheap too, at around $3, We got one each, topping it with sauerkraut and Raye’s famous mustard.
It was a tasty classic hot dog, perfect for a summer day.

I also heard their chili flies are amazing and use homemade chili. If we had more time, I would have gotten an order. Just a heads up, they are cash only!

4. Fat Puppy Fusion
📍 Location: Brunswick, Maine
💳 Payment Methods: Cash & Card Accepted
This place is new, and I have to be honest—it’s downright delicious.
Fat Puppy Fusion is a gourmet hot dog food truck that offers a unique twist on traditional hot dogs in Brunswick.

They don’t use a traditional hot dog bun; instead, they wrap their Maine Family Farms 3-ounce hot dogs and house-made toppings in fluffy flatbread.
I tried the Glorious Mutt, which had a grilled hot dog with bacon, cheddar, and house pineapple relish.

It was packed with flavor and for the price, it was a steal! If you’re in Brunswick and want to try something different and really tasty, Fat Puppy Fusion is definitely worth a visit.
5. Dunton’s Doghouse
📍 Location: Boothbay Harbor, Maine
💳 Payment Methods: Cash Only
Tucked away on one of the side streets in Boothbay Harbor is a local favorite, Dunton’s Doghouse.
This small shack is famous for its tasty hot dogs, but they also serve lobster rolls (which I recommend adding to your order)

This cozy stand has quickly become a favorite of mine because of its simple yet delicious hot dogs and super-friendly vibe.
The menu isn’t huge, but it’s got everything you need for a tasty meal.

You can choose from a bunch of toppings to make your hot dog just the way you like it, whether you go for classic mustard and relish or top it with grilled onion.

6. Flos Hot Dogs
📍 Location: Cape Neddick, Maine
💳 Payment Methods: Cash Only
I recently had the chance to visit Flo’s Hot Dogs in Cape Neddick, Maine, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite finds.
Since 1959, this tiny roadside stand has been serving up hot dogs with a unique twist—Flo’s famous relish.
The hot dogs are steamed to perfection and topped with a sweet and tangy relish, a bit of mayo, and celery salt.

The whole experience at Flo’s is charmingly old-school. The stand is small and cash-only, so remember to bring some bills.
Even though the line can get long, it moves quickly, and the wait is well worth it.
If you’re ever in southern Maine, stopping by Flo’s Hot Dogs is a must—it’s a delicious slice of local history that I’ll definitely be returning to.
7. Gurnet Trading Company
📍 Location: Brunswick, Maine
💳 Payment Methods: Cash & Card Accepted
I wasn’t expecting to find one of the best hot dogs I’ve ever had at Gurnet Trading Company, a small seafood shack in Brunswick.
I usually stop by for locally caught fish, but today I was pleasantly surprised to see a chili dog on the menu.
After a hike in the area, I was starving, so it was a perfect find.

From the first bite, I knew this hot dog was special. The homemade chili was incredible and packed with flavor.
I really hope they serve these all winter because it’ll definitely be my go-to from now on!
8. El Corazón
📍 Location: South Portland, Maine

If you’re in South Portland and craving a hot dog with a twist, the Sonoran Hot Dog at El Corazón is a must-try.
This ¼ lb. bacon-wrapped hot dog is packed with chihuahua cheese, guacamole, refried beans, pico de gallo, mustard, and mayo—serving as a meal all on its own.

9. OystHERS Raw Bar & Bubbly
📍Location: Bath, Maine
💳 Payment Methods: Cash & Card Accepted
One of my favorite spots in midcoast Maine is OystHERS Raw Bar & Bubbly in Bath!
I typically come here for the oysters, charcuterie boards, and of course, the bubbly. But there’s another reason you should go—the hot dog!
They offer the Red Snappah!, which features a traditional red hot dog on a potato roll andis served with Kettle chips and Morse’s Sauerkraut.

But what truly makes this hot dog stand is the option to make it a Caviar Snapper with wasabi tobiko for an extra $5!
It’s truly delish, and with the water views in the background, it’s the perfect combination.
10. Red’s Eats
📍Location: Wiscasset, Maine
💳 Payment Methods: Cash Only!
The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Red’s Eats is their delicious lobster roll! But during my visit the other day, I couldn’t help but notice the hot dogs they were cranking out.
I was happy to learn that these hot dogs are only $1 in honor of Red himself. So, of course, we ordered a few to go along with our lobster roll.

It’s rare to find a hot dog for $1 in 2026, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But what I received blew my mind.
The dog was perfectly cooked and served on a toasted bun—it was one of the most delicious hot dogs I’ve ever had!
