If you’re visiting Vermont this fall, don’t miss out on the state’s famous maple creemees!

These soft-serve treats made with real maple syrup are a must-try. I’ve narrowed it down to my top three favorite spots in the Green Mountain State.

Whether you like the classic flavor or something with a twist, these creemees will satisfy your sweet tooth and make your Vermont trip extra memorable!

Maple Creemee in Vermont

First, let’s talk about what a maple creemee is. It’s a classic Vermont treat that highlights the state’s sweet, natural flavors.

Picture soft-serve ice cream with a twist—it’s made with pure maple syrup, giving it a rich, sweet taste that’s unmistakably Vermont.

What makes a maple creemee special is the maple syrup, often sourced from local sugarhouses.

Unlike regular soft-serve with a variety of flavors, maple takes center stage here, making this dessert a true taste of Vermont’s culture and agricultural roots.

You can enjoy maple creemees in classic styles or get a little adventurous with fun add-ins like butterscotch or chocolate swirls.

They come in a cone or cup and are the perfect treat to enjoy while taking in the stunning Vermont scenery.

The Best Maple Creemee in Vermont

1. Palmer Lane Maple

Palmer Lane Maple is a small, family-owned maple shop in Jericho, Vermont, which has become a favorite stop for locals and visitors.

Known for its authentic Vermont maple products, the shop offers everything from maple syrup to candies, but the real star of the show is its famous Maple Creemee.

We opted for a twist—one with maple and butterscotch, the other with chocolate.

The creamy texture and rich maple flavor made each bite a true taste of Vermont, and the fall-themed decor added to the cozy, seasonal vibe.

From colorful pumpkins to hay bales, the atmosphere felt like the perfect autumn escape.

2. Cold Hollow Cider Mill

Cold Hollow Cider Mill has been around since the ’70s, starting off as a small cider-making spot in Waterbury, Vermont.

It’s grown into a local favorite, but they’ve stuck with their old-school methods, using traditional presses to make their cider.

They still get their apples from nearby orchards, so everything’s super fresh.

It’s not just a place to grab a snack—it’s a glimpse into Vermont’s apple-growing history and a reminder of how things were done back in the day.

Cold Hollow Cider Mill may be touristy, but it’s a must-stop. Expect to wait for parking and in line, but it’s worth it.

We tried their apple cider donuts, fresh apple cider, and of course, another Maple Creemee—it is fall in Vermont, after all!

The creemee, made with pure maple syrup, is a local favorite and a perfect fall treat.

3. Silloway Maple

Silloway Maple is a hidden gem that any maple lover needs to check out.

This family-run sugarhouse has been around since the 1940s, and you can really feel the tradition and care that goes into every bottle of syrup they produce.

They offer tours of the sugarhouse, where you can see the whole process of making maple syrup, from tapping the trees to boiling the sap in their wood-fired evaporator.

The farm itself is beautiful, with scenic views of the Vermont countryside, and also goats!

But the real highlight of my visit? Their maple creemee!

It was hands-down one of the best I’ve ever had. Creamy, rich, and made with their pure maple syrup, it was the perfect mix of sweet and smooth.

They also put a little sugar dusting on top, I chose the maple of course!

I could taste the authentic maple flavor in every bite, and I didn’t want it to end.

It’s the kind of treat that keeps you coming back for more, and it’s worth stopping by Silloway Maple just for that alone.
