If you’re looking for an affordable Michelin dining experience in Copenhagen, Marv & Ben should be at the top of your list. This Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant delivers an incredible tasting menu without the sky-high price tag that many people associate with Michelin dining.
Marv & Ben in Copenhagen
Marv & Ben is a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant located in the heart of Copenhagen.
While it doesn’t hold a Michelin star, the Bib Gourmand designation recognizes restaurants that serve exceptional food at a great value.

Copenhagen is known as one of the world’s top food cities, and Michelin restaurants are everywhere.
During our trip, I wanted to experience Copenhagen’s famous food scene without spending a thousand dolalrs, and Marv & Ben ended up being the perfect choice.
Booking Our Reservation
We made a reservation for right when the restaurant opened, which gave us a relaxed start to the evening.
Reservations are recommended, especially during the busy summer travel season.

Even though Marv & Ben is more affordable than many Michelin-recognized restaurants in Copenhagen, it’s still a popular spot among both locals and visitors.
The Tasting Menu
We chose the Six Favourites tasting menu, which featured six courses highlighting seasonal Nordic ingredients.
Hamachi with White Asparagus and Elderflower
This was a light and refreshing way to start the meal. The hamachi was incredibly fresh, while the asparagus and elderflower added a bright spring flavor.
Turbot with Cabbage and Parsley
The turbot was perfectly cooked and flaky. It was a simple dish, but the fresh herbs and cabbage let the quality of the fish shine.

Potato with Bakskuld and Fresh Cheese
This ended up being one of the more surprising courses. The creamy fresh cheese paired perfectly with the potato. Creating a dish that felt comforting while still being elevated.
Raw Beef with Browned Butter and Ramson
This was probably the most unique dish of the evening. The rich browned butter added incredible flavor!

While the ramson brought a subtle garlic note that balanced everything out.
Chicken with Blackcurrant and Pepper
The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the blackcurrant added a touch of sweetness that worked surprisingly well with the pepper.

Rhubarb with White Chocolate and Rose
The dessert was light and not overly sweet. The tart rhubarb paired beautifully with the white chocolate, while the rose added a delicate floral finish to the meal.
What the Experience Was Like
The restaurant has an intimate atmosphere that feels welcoming rather than overly formal.
The pacing of the meal was excellent, allowing us to enjoy each course without feeling rushed.

Every dish was beautifully presented, and you could tell a lot of thought went into balancing flavors and showcasing local ingredients.
What impressed me most was the value. Compared to many Michelin and fine dining experiences around the world, the tasting menu felt surprisingly affordable for the quality we received.
