Some of the best bars in London are hidden in plain sight, and this one is easy to miss unless you know exactly what you’re looking for. Hidden behind a fridge inside The Breakfast Club, this London speakeasy turned out to be one of the most memorable hidden bars I visited in the city.
Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town in London
Here’s a look into my experience, from the iconic fridge entrance to the cocktails I tried.
Finding a Hidden London Speakeasy
Finding the Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town was honestly one of my favorite parts of visiting London.
There’s no obvious sign outside, and unless you already know what you’re looking for.
It’s easy to walk right past without realizing one of London’s most talked-about secret bars is right there.
The Fridge Entrance Inside The Breakfast Club
The Breakfast Club is a real, working restaurant, which makes the entrance feel even more unexpected.

Inside, a fridge that looks completely ordinary turns out to be the doorway to one of the most well-known speakeasies in London.

Inside the Fridge
Once the fridge door opens, you step inside and head downstairs.

There’s something genuinely fun about entering a bar this way, and it immediately sets the tone before you even order your first drink.

It’s exactly the kind of playful, immersive experience that makes secret speakeasies in London so memorable.
Cocktails at The Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town
The cocktails here are just as thoughtful as the entrance.
Mayor’s Tea Party
I ordered the Mayor’s Tea Party!
Made with Earl Grey-infused Tanqueray 10 gin, Rinquinquin peach vermouth, homemade lavender syrup, lemon, and grapefruit bitters.
It was light, floral, and really well balanced, the kind of cocktail that feels creative without being overly sweet.
This is the type of drink that reminds you why hidden cocktail bars in London are worth seeking out.

Midnight Oil
We also tried the Midnight Oil, made with mezcal verde, butterfly pea tea, agave, orange, and lime.
This cocktail leaned smoky and citrusy, with a subtle earthiness from the mezcal that felt perfectly suited to the space.
Both drinks felt well executed, exactly what I look for when visiting secret cocktail bars in London.
My Ginger Jasmine
I also tried My Ginger Jasmine, made with jasmine-infused vodka, fresh ginger, lemon, and soda.

It leaned bright and refreshing, with the floral note from the jasmine coming through first.
Followed by a gentle warmth from the ginger that lingered without overpowering the drink.
It felt light and easy to sip, the kind of cocktail that works just as well at the start of the night as it does once you’ve settled into the space.
Booking a Reservation
Because this is one of London’s more well-known hidden bars, reservations are a good idea, especially in the evenings or on weekends.
