If you have ever wanted to step into Neverland without leaving London, this afternoon tea makes it possible. From playful sweets to thoughtful details inspired by Peter Pan, the entire experience at Aqua Shard is a must.
Peter Pan Afternoon Tea at Aqua Shard
Located on the 31st floor of The Shard, Aqua Shard is one of the most iconic places in London for afternoon tea.
The restaurant is known for its sweeping skyline views, elegant setting, and creative themed menus that change throughout the year.
While many spots in the city serve traditional tea with scones and finger sandwiches, Aqua Shard has built a reputation for turning afternoon tea into a full experience.
This time, the entire experience is inspired by Peter Pan, adding a touch of Neverland magic high above the city.
My Peter Pan Afternoon Tea Experience
We were seated right by the window, and the sweeping views over London instantly made the entire experience feel even more magical.
When the tea arrived, it was presented on a custom Jolly Roger ship stand, and it quite literally came out smoking.

It felt theatrical in the best way, like the moment Captain Hook’s ship sails into Neverland.
Tinkerbell Tea
I started with the Tinkerbell Tea, a whimsical blend designed to capture the magic of everyone’s favorite fairy.
It was light, refreshing, and slightly sweet, with a delicate floral note that made it feel playful but still elegant.
It paired beautifully with the savory bites and set the tone for the entire afternoon.
Fairy Dust Cocktail
Later, I tried the Fairy Dust cocktail, which felt like the grown-up version of Neverland in a glass.
Made with vodka, green apple liqueur, fresh lime juice, and sugar syrup, it had a bright citrus kick balanced by subtle sweetness.

It was crisp, refreshing, and surprisingly smooth, making it the perfect sparkling addition to the tea experience.
Savory Selection
The savory course felt creative without straying too far from classic afternoon tea.
Highlights included the Enchanted Forest Tart with sweet potato, cheddar, fig, and pine nuts, which was rich and slightly sweet.

The Neverland Lagoon with confit salmon, compressed iceberg lettuce, and smoked caviar, which felt refined and beautifully presented.
Each bite tied back to the Peter Pan theme in a subtle, thoughtful way.
The Lost Boy Sandwiches
The finger sandwiches stayed true to tradition but carried playful names inspired by the story.
The Lost Boy sandwich featured lightly spiced confit chicken with mustard mayo on red pepper bread.
While the Little Bird combined egg mayo and watercress on soft white bread.
They were simple, classic, and perfectly balanced.
Freshly Baked Scones
No afternoon tea is complete without scones, and the vanilla and raisin scones here were warm and comforting.

Served with gooseberry and elderflower jam, morello and raspberry jam, and dotted cream.
They struck that perfect balance between crumbly and soft.
Sweet Treats from Neverland
The sweets were where the Peter Pan theme really came to life. Tinkerbell’s Heart featured cookie dough and raspberry tartlet flavors.
While Captain Hook’s Battenberg added poppy seed sponge with apricot jam and smoked coconut icing.

The You Can Fly dessert combined milk chocolate mousse with yuzu crème for a bright, unexpected finish.

Each one felt playful but was still beautifully executed.
