I had to visit this speakeasy after hearing about it from a friend, and I am so happy I did.

From the hidden entryway to mouthwatering Chef Dogs, PDT NYC is the place to be for a night out in the city.

Please Don’t Tell NYC (PDT) has been shaking up the cocktail scene since 2007.

Tucked away behind a hot dog shop, this hidden bar is now one of the most sought-after speakeasies in New York City — and I’ll tell you why.

How To Find Please Don’t Tell

Finding the entry point of this East Village cocktail bar was so much fun, as the Please Don’t Tell bar in NYC sits inside Crif Dogs.

Which you can easily spot right from the street!

Make your way down the stairs to the infamous hot dog joint. You won’t see signs for Please Don’t Tell NYC.

You can only gain entry through a vintage phone booth, which will bring you to a prohibition-style bar with a cozy ambiance.

I won’t give away more secrets—after all, the name is Please Don’t Tell!

Craft Cocktails at PDT

Their cocktail menu was fun and exciting. It featured a variety of spirits, all infused with bizarre and tasty flavor combinations.

This award-winning bar has a craft cocktail list featuring both unique and classic cocktails. We tried both!

We ordered many different ones, from the Aromatherapy with lavender gin and Earl Grey tea to a Japanese-style martini.

Every sip proved why Please Don’t Tell NYC ranks as one of the best speakeasies in NYC.

The Please Don’t Tell NYC menu isn’t public, and they change up cocktails and the ingredients constantly.

Mouthwatering Chef Dogs

Whatever you do, don’t leave PDT NYC without trying one of their Chef Dogs! These aren’t just any hot dogs.

NYC chefs create each one to transform a regular hot dog into a culinary masterpiece with ingredients from their restaurants.

I think I will still have dreams about the lemongrass from this dog; it was beyond amazing.

We tried the Hanoi Dog first!

With our second round of drinks, we ordered the Chang Dog, a bacon-wrapped Crif dog with Momofuku Kimchi!

Do I Need Reservations For Please Don’t Tell?

Due to its popularity, Please Don’t Tell NYC reservations are required.

Walk-ins are generally not accepted, so make your PDT NYC reservation in advance.

Exclusive reservations can be made in advance through the bar’s website.

We made our reservation for this East Village hotspot a few weeks out. I am glad we did because PDT was booked up when we arrived.

Is There a Dress Code at Please Don’t Tell NYC?

Wondering about the Please Don’t Tell NYC dress code? Don’t worry—there isn’t one!

Unlike many upscale bars in the city, PDT NYC keeps things relaxed and doesn’t enforce a formal dress code.

Whether you’re dressed casually after exploring the East Village or opting for a more stylish look for a night out, you’ll fit right in.

This laid-back vibe perfectly complements the quirky and hidden charm of one of the best speakeasies in New York City.

We came here after biking the Empire State Trail and were in casual clothing.
