Burlington might be best known for its craft beer, but if you know where to look, its cocktail scene is just as impressive.

I spent some time exploring Burlington’s bar scene, seeking out the best cocktails in town, and I found two spots that completely blew me away.

If you’re looking for unique drinks, hidden gems, and a cozy atmosphere, these bars should be at the top of your list.

1. Devil Takes a Holiday

📍 Location: A hidden speakeasy in Burlington, VT

I love a good cocktail bar, and Devil Takes a Holiday delivers on every level.

The cocktail list is a mix of classics and creative twists, with a focus on high-quality ingredients and expert techniques.

I went for a smoky mezcal cocktail with a hint of citrus and spice, and it was absolutely perfect—smooth, complex, and beautifully balanced.

But what really makes this place special is the attention to detail. The bartenders here aren’t just mixing drinks—they’re crafting experiences.

From the perfectly chilled glassware to the precise balance of flavors in every sip, this is the kind of bar that makes you appreciate a well-made cocktail.

2. Lincolns

Lincolns is one of those places that you don’t just walk into—you earn it. There’s no sign outside, no flashy entrance, and no obvious clues.

Just a plain door, a bit of mystery, and a sense of adventure. Once you finally find it (and trust me, the hunt is part of the fun), you’ll step into a cozy, low-lit basement bar that feels like Burlington’s best-kept secret.

The whole place runs on a simple concept: every drink is $5. Yep, just five bucks. Beers, cocktails, everything. It’s a no-frills spot with serious charm.

It is CASH ONLY. So, make sure to arrive with cash or use the ATM that is right next to the entrance,e like we did.

If you’re into secret spots with good vibes, affordable drinks, and a little bit of mystery, Lincolns should be on your list. Just don’t ask for directions—you’ve got to find it yourself.

3. BKK in the Alley

📍 Location: Hidden off Main Street, Burlington, VT

Hidden down an alley in Burlginton, you will find BKK in the Alley, one of my favorite spots.

The entrance looks plain, but inside you find a cozy, quiet space with soft lighting, bright Thai-style decorations, and a great cocktail menu with many unique drinks.

We chose to roll the dice to try cocktails that were unique yet tasty. Basically, you roll the dice and whatever ingredients are on there, the bartender uses to create a drink.

The bartenders here clearly know their craft, and each drink feels intentional, well-balanced, and unique.

This is the kind of place where you could easily lose track of time, sipping cocktails and soaking in the atmosphere. If you’re into creative drinks with bold flavors, this spot is a must-visit.

4. Venetian Soda Lounge

Venetian Soda Lounge has serious speakeasy vibes—dim lighting, cool décor, and a hidden entrance that makes it feel like a secret spot.

We ended up here for a jazz night, and it was such a fun surprise. The band was great, the vibe was chill, and the drinks were even better.

I had a gin cocktail with their house-made soda that was light, refreshing, and super easy to sip.
