If you’re flying into Bodø before heading to the Lofoten Islands, I have one hotel you absolutely shouldn’t skip. Wood Hotel Bodø combines incredible architecture, panoramic fjord views, amazing food, and a rooftop pool to create one of my favorite hotel stays in Norway.
Wood Hotel in Bodø
Wood Hotel Bodø is a boutique hotel perched on top of a mountain overlooking Bodø, the surrounding fjords, and the Norwegian Sea.
Built almost entirely from sustainably certified wood, it’s one of the most eco-friendly hotels I’ve ever stayed at.
From the moment we arrived, I loved how the natural materials blended into the surrounding landscape.
The location also makes it a great place to spend a night before catching the ferry or flight to the Lofoten Islands.
Why the Mountaintop Location Makes This Hotel So Special
The first thing that stood out to me was the view.
Because the hotel sits high above the city, you get incredible 360-degree views in every direction.
Whether you’re looking out toward the fjords, mountains, or sea, there’s always something beautiful to take in.
It honestly felt like one of those hotels where you could spend the entire afternoon just enjoying the scenery.
Dining at Restaurant ATTME
One of the highlights of our stay was dinner at Restaurant ATTME.
We decided to order the tasting menu, and every single course was beautifully presented and packed with flavor.
It ended up being one of my favorite meals from our entire Norway trip.
If you’re staying at the hotel, I highly recommend making a reservation.
It’s an experience that’s just as memorable as the hotel itself.
Relaxing in the Rooftop Pool During the Midnight Sun
After dinner, we changed into our swimsuits and headed to the rooftop pool.
Visiting during the midnight sun made the experience even more surreal.
Sitting in the warm water while looking out over the mountains and sea at nearly midnight is something I’ll never forget.
It was easily my favorite part of our stay and one of the coolest experiences we had in Northern Norway.

- Bring a swimsuit so you can enjoy the rooftop pool.
